Ikan Pais - Pomfret Wrapped in Banana Leaf
This goes great with white rice, is healthy to eat and easy to do. I might just try it this weekend.
Ingredients:
2 pomfret fish
3 shallots
2 garlic
1 large onion
½ ginger
½ inch fresh turmeric
3 red chillies
Coriander leaf
Some tamarind juice
Banana leaf
Salt
Method: Blend all ingredients; add tamarind juice to the blended ingredients. Mix thoroughly with the pomfrets. Wrap the fish in banana leaf (can also use aluminium foil). Steam or grill for 20 minutes, slow heat.

Sorry I don’t know what pomfret fish is.
If we dont have this can we use a substitute.
