A Way to Destress! Baking!
I swear by this! All you stressed out working folks or housewives, put on your apron and bake. Get inspiration from bakery shops , stop and take the time to smell the aroma……
I had it figured by now, why it destresses me - see when you are focussing on something, like getting the right weight, or watching the mixture till its light and fluffly, your mind is empty of worldly thoughts, its between you and that wonderful batter, being beaten to a nice creamy colour. Just like meditation, you focus.
And you watch it rise, like a small child, you check in the oven to see that promised land! And you are never disappointed. Seems to me, even if your cakes turn out less than perfect, you cannot go far wrong in getting some great taste - after all , its made of, at the very least, butter , milk, sugar, flour, eggs.
Even a child can do it! But dont let the child touch the oven!

I just discovered this recently myself. I completely agree with you. I’m a college student and baking saved my sanity during midterm week. Cheers to cookie dough!
